February 2025

"Each visit to The National WWII Museum is not just an exploration of history; it's an immersive journey that engages all the senses, allowing visitors to walk the paths of bravery and sacrifice while enjoying the rich flavors and stories of the past."

At The National World War II Museum, guests don't just learn about the past; they taste it. This approach deepens their connection, making their visit a truly immersive experience.

"When you walk into our Guadalcanal exhibit you sense that you are walking into a jungle, you hear the sounds and see the scenery of the jungle while learning WWII stories through first person accounts and curated exhibits," Becky Mackie, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the Musuem, explained. "When you sit in the Solomon Victory Theater watching the 4-D movie Beyond All Boundaries, the harsh weather our troops encountered is emphasized as snow falls from the ceiling during the Battle of the Bulge." For Sodexo Live!, adding to the immersive experience was a priority.

"The museum recommends a full day to experience all the pavilions and add-on experiences," said Michelle Margarido, Sodexo Live! General Manager. "When guests join us for lunch or a snack during this time, we want to keep them engaged and immersed in this period and continue enhancing their museum experience."

As you enter Jeri Nim's Soda Shop at The National WWII Museum in New Orleans, you take a mini walk back in time. The nostalgic decor—complete with an authentic soda fountain, a classic jukebox playing tunes from the past, and traditional tables with bar stools—offers a charming backdrop for guests to enjoy timeless treats while relishing a slice of history.

The Museum also offers Dinner with a Curator, an evening of food and history hosted by The American Sector Restaurant & Bar culinary team and Museum professionals. Guests participate in discussion on a featured topic related to World War II, interpreted through the Museum's collection and a theme-inspired three-course dinner paired with beverage specials.
