Chef Suzanne Goin and Restaurateur Caroline Styne Introduce Updated Offerings to Discover this Summer at the Hollywood Bowl

LOS ANGELES (May 28, 2024) – The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association announced today menus for the 2024 Hollywood Bowl Food + Wine season. Now into the ninth year with award-winning chef Suzanne Goin and restaurateur Caroline Styne, Hollywood Bowl Food + Wine promises exceptional dining for visitors to the iconic venue. Goin and Styne’s culinary history has defined Los Angeles tastes since 1998 when they opened Lucques, their legendary first restaurant. At the Hollywood Bowl, their California-inspired offerings include three restaurants and three marketplaces. Additionally, menus for the Terrace and Garden Boxes, which can be ordered a day in advance, are created by four-time James Beard Foundation award-winner Suzanne Goin. Goin’s vibrant new summer dishes pair beautifully with the exceptional wine and beer programs curated by Caroline Styne, the James Beard Foundation’s 2018 Outstanding Restaurateur of the Year award recipient. Overseeing the broad range of dining options serving Hollywood Bowl Food + Wine’s thousands of nightly guests is Executive Chef Jeff Rogers.

This year Caroline Styne has curated a diverse retail wine selection in the three marketplaces offering a broad selection of varieties and options for wine lovers visiting the Bowl. The markets feature a number of canned wines as well as a wide selection of vegan, organic and biodynamic bottles, including a collection of natural wines from producers including Broc Cellars, Wavy Wines, Nat Cool by Neipoort and Hollywood Bowl wine sponsor WINC wines. Returning for the 2024 season are the Wednesdays and Sunday Market Tastings – a 14-week program of complimentary wine tastings at the Plaza Marketplace with guest winemakers, importers and sommeliers hand-selected by Caroline to give the venue’s visitors an immersive and personal experience with her favorite people in the wine world.

Hollywood Bowl Food + Wine’s many dining options include three sit-down restaurants, street-food kiosks, pre-ordered picnic boxes and a full-service dinner delivered to your box seat. For private events, Hollywood Bowl Food + Wine provides catering at several locations for groups both large and small.

Hollywood Bowl Food + Wine – ann’s wine bar; suzanne’s fried chicken; sushi; the backyard

Supper in Your Seats – Available by pre-order online until 6 p.m. the day before a performance, Supper in Your Seats offers curated three-course dinners or customized meals from à la carte selections delivered right to your box seats. 

Menu Highlight: The Mulholland – the bowl chopped salad: tomato, bacon, blue cheese, peppers, buttermilk; grilled seabass with green garlic soubise, pea tendrils and charred scallion salsa; grilled filet with rosemary potatoes, grilled summer vegetables, arugula and piquillo butter; and milk chocolate torta with rum caramel and coffee cream cinnamon malt crumble.

Newly available Supper in Your Seats items for 2024 include:

  • heirloom tomato and watermelon salad with feta, red onion and opal basil
  • beets and beluga lentils with grilled peppers, labneh and walnuts
  • moroccan carrot salad with muhammara, herbs, black olive and lavash
  • grilled trumpet mushrooms with carrot purée, crispy farro, cavolo nero and chermoula
  • slow-roasted salmon with grilled peaches, saffron couscous, cucumber yogurt and mint pistou
  • grilled seabass with green garlic soubise, pea tendrils, pickled fresnos and scallion salsa
  • chicken-under-a-brick with spiced cauliflower, chorizo, green harissa and preserved lemon
  • braised short rib with rajas polenta, spinach, crème fraîche and charred corn

Ann’s Wine Bar by A.O.C. – Showcasing a wine list personally curated by Caroline Styne, Los Angeles’ favorite wine bar comes to life at the Hollywood Bowl with a wine-friendly menu of artisanal cheese and charcuterie, farmers plates, grilled flatbreads, market-fresh salads and A.O.C.-style fish and meats. There are also craft brews and farmers market-driven cocktails made with soju and other wine-based liquors.

Newly available Ann’s Wine Bar by A.O.C. items for 2024 include:

  • grilled flatbreads with spanish chorizo, roasted tomato, black olive & sao jorge
  • weiser melons with cucumber, purslane, french feta, urfa & pistachios
  • heirloom tomatoes with watercress, marinated labneh & green harissa
  • venus clams with fregola sarda, green garlic & pea shoots
  • grilled prawns with sweet corn pudding, nectarines & mustard butter
  • striped bass with early girl tomatoes, yogurt, harissa & pistachio dukkah
  • lamb chops with eggplant puree, charred peppers, black olive & chermoula
  • hanger steak with calabrian chili butter, arugula & sourdough breadcrumbs

the backyard – The al fresco dining area, adjacent to the amphitheater, is flanked by two large wood-burning grills and offers an updated seasonal market-driven menu of summer salads, an extensive raw bar and side dishes, in addition to the wood-grilled selection of fresh fish, seafood, organic chicken, chops and steaks.

Newly available items for the backyard in 2024 include: 

  • charred leeks with jamon, weiser potatoes, charred poblano and aji amarillo
  • lobster louie with little gems, russian dressing, cherry tomato, avocado and egg
  • tinned fish with grilled toast, olives, radish, guandillos and house pickles
  • white trumpet mushrooms with charred vegetable mechoui, harissa and pine nuts
  • baja striped bass with green romesco, harissa carrots and cumin yogurt
  • lime mojo prawns with corn succotash , avocado, watercress and chorizo vinaigrette
  • young chicken with escarole, pecorino pudding, mustard and salsa rustica
  • country style pork chop with white bean puree, blistered tomatoes, purslane and za’atar butter

Picnic Boxes – All four of Suzanne Goin’s complete picnic boxes can be pre-ordered a day before a concert and picked up at the Plaza Marketplace or delivered to your box seats. 

Menu Highlight: The All-American – Fried chicken tenders with buttermilk dressing; apple coleslaw with rice vinegar dressing; watermelon salad with tomato, peach, mint, ricotta salata, and balsamic vinaigrette homemade cornbread with honey; and cornmeal shortcake with strawberries and mascarpone whip.

Kitchen 22 – Made-to-order beef and veggie burgers, Suzanne’s Spanish fried chicken, and grilled Comté cheese on Larder sourdough anchor the Hollywood Bowl’s tribute to classic American fare.

Menu Highlight: Big and Juicy Burgers 

Marketplaces – Three Marketplace locations – Plaza, East and West – specializes in premium “grab-and-go” sushi from Seaweed in Glendale plus charcuterie, cheese plates, desserts, and Magpies Softserve ice cream pies and sundaes. 

Showcasing the best of Goin and Styne’s casual Larder café-marketplace, these Hollywood Bowl venues also feature a large selection of hand-picked wines, craft beers, sodas and waters, as well as salty and sweet snacks including cookies and brownies, candy, nuts and crackers.

Lucques at the Circle  This is a full-service dining experience for Pool Circle subscribers, showcasing a seasonal made-to-order menu and exceptional wine list styled from the award-winning cuisine of Lucques. 

Newly available items for Lucques at the Circle in 2024 include:

  • chilled salmorejo with heirloom tomato, herbs and sieved egg
  • arugula and stone fruit salad with berries, lemon ricotta and pistachio 
  • lobster chopped salad: shell beans, avocado, bacon and buttermilk dressing
  • paccheri with rapini, cherry tomato, olives, capers and toasted crumbs
  • grilled seabass with pappa pomodoro, smoked tomato butter and anchovy
  • duck confit with haricots verts, crushed hazelnuts and glazed cherries
  • grilled lamb chops with eggplant, peppers, pinenuts and cumin yogurt
  • pistachio financier with orange blossom water and bruléed kumquats

Street Food and Snacks – Authentic street foods can be found throughout the grounds of the Hollywood Bowl, including Suzanne’s fried chicken, tacos (including vegan), artisanal pizzas, pulled pork BBQ sandwiches, epicurean vegan hot dogs and beverages. The Sweet Shop offers signature desserts, cookies and brownies, coffee and ice cream. Visitors will find L.A.’s Magpies Softserve’s ice cream pies and their mix-in ice creams, which include nondairy and vegan options.
